Audio-Visual Aids Section

 

The Quaid-e-Azam Library is a repository of knowledge in whatever formats. Library houses a wide range of audio-visual material which include slides, motion pictures, audio and video cassettes, transparencies, films, CDs etc.

Different informative and educational programs are arranged for the research scholars. Microfilms of old newspapers is an asset. The microfilms of Paisa Akhbar, Civil & Military Gazette, Comrade and Eastern Times etc. are a valuable collection.

Ladies Section

 

The Ladies Section contains books on health care, nutrition, cookery, education, home economics and Islamiyat. The ladies also have a separate reading room in which newspapers and latest magazines are supplied.

Oriental Section

 

The top gallery of the Jinnah Hall has been reserved for standard works of Islam, Tafseer, Ahadith and books on Seerah. The four corner rooms in the gallery are used for study and browsing rooms for scholars. These are air-conditioned and provided with easy chairs and sofa sets. The Urdu, Arabic and Persian Book Sections are also located in the gallery.

Periodical Section

 

The Periodical Section of the Library occupies a central place. It has a rich collection of magazines and newspapers of different countries and on different subjects. The library receives about 257 magazines in English and 70 in Urdu language as well as 20 newspapers in English including (local and foreign) and 17 in Urdu.

The following useful services are being rendered by this Section:-

1) Articles are indexed on Islam, Pakistan affairs, international affairs, current affairs, economic conditions, social problems, socio-economic issues, defense, etc.

2) Assistance is provided to the candidates of competitive examinations especially on current affairs and Pakistan affairs.

3) Reference services are provided to the students of different colleges/universities in order to assist them in the preparation of their assignments/theses.

  1. Newspaper clipping files on 40 important subjects/ topics have been maintained to provide first-hand information on current, national and international affairs.

Reference Section

 

The main portion of the library in the Jinnah Hall includes the Reference Section. Study tables have been placed for the readers close to the bookshelves. The entrance to this hall is from the Bagh-e-Jinnah side. The Reference Section contains a collection of encyclopaedias, almanacs, directories, dictionaries, yearbooks and atlases. Bibliographical assistance is provided to initiate research.

Textbook Section

 

For the benefit of students, additional copies of textbooks needed for medical and engineering and other subjects have been procured for this section.
